2 more days and i will be HOME again!!!

i really miss home a lot!!!  the big plasma tv, hong kong tv programs. my friends and maybe also family...

the trip is really superb~ i went to volcano tracking in 4am and watched the beautiful sunrise there..~ it is the first time i saw sunrise from a volcano~ i cant really describe what we saw here, but its like fantasy...  we also saw hot springs with steam spurting from the ground~ i also saw the "mouth" of the volcano~ it was still steaming hot..~~ my first time to be so near to a active volcano~ nice~ the mountain is named. Mutar~

Went to white water rafting in ______ river~ it is so exciting~ it is much better to feel it than to saw sb else in tv program or the leaflets~ we have a good price on that too~ only 400,000 for 2 person.. much cheaper price than the westerners~ nice job for simon and me~ the dinner and lunch is also unbeatable...  indo food buffet, and fried seafood basket at nite~ not expensive in terms of HKDs too~~

Some more surfing with no remarkable improvement yet....

went to quiksilver outlet in Bali~  the price is not really cheap tough~ but still bought a few shirts with simon~  now planning to meet the UK buddies tonite and mess around Bali~ shall be great~

servacio~ i miss u guys a lot too~   all the volunteers & staffs of BPC~ but not the ward rounds and Dr. Dan~ dun let him know that of coz~~ haha~ btw, simon and i have some clothes left at holiday inn..  a vest, red nike t-shirt, a towel, a pair of shorts and jeans... u can take it from the owner there if u want them~ they are quite new and the t shirt is one of my favourites indeed~ all the best~

morning start with ward round, once again a generalised edematous lady was suspected have TB by Dr.Dan our boss here...
we have no time to argue with him and he start her on TB meds... we heard muffled heart sounds and reduced voltage on ECG!
pericardial effusion! why is there so much water in this patient! more info is needed to make further conlcusions..~ but
really unlikely to be TB... another case of TB meninigitis! why no BCG in this nation!!!??? another case which ought to
be prevented!! felt really sorry bout it,..~

Today is labour day!! we leave early at 12pm! no mobile clinics today~ hurray!! we went to a chinese place which its owner
is from singapore.. and he chatted with us using cantonese~ we talk about the politics of East timor... how critical and hostile
a future it has~ how different countries tried their best to earn their profits and oil here..~ how they drain petrol beneath
east timor..~ what a pity..  we saw a protest marching across the road when we are hving our lunch..~ AUssie are really mother
fuckers, they tried their very best to mock the local timorese...~

we went to the beach again after lunch~ what a relaxing place~ i loved this place more than anything else in Dili!! beautiful
hills and trees..  clear water and fine sand..  clean air and bright sky~~ we swim, wrestle, sun bathe and some
beer and drinks~... how wonderful~

The day end with a perfect dinner in Dili beach Cafe~ my favourite place in whole Dili~ i cant forget it's perfect burger!
big, nice and juicy! Mcdonalds hv absolutely no comparison with this!! even the fries here is MUCH MUCH better and crunchy!
the dip fried squid is also the best i hv tried~~

Today went to somewhere out there in Bobonaro! 3.5 hour drive x2 =a total of 7!! wth~ see minimal patients and back..~using
only 45 minutes..  how rediculous..  they probably having contact the locals to come before we arrived there... totally a
wasting of time and manpower!! we were back at 6 in the evening without our lunch..~ fuck it!

the ssm is becoming more and more boring... since we have experienced most of the things around here in Dili~ and the
place we live in is becoming more and more intolerable... no electricity in the middle of the night... no air con in this fucking hot place!, no lights!no shower
my lap top cant func well! my blanket is lost for no reason... no water most of the time, esp. the time when u are really desperate to have a shower~
the water is dirty, the mean landlord always try to save money by limiting our water use and turn off the generator whenever possible...!!
wtf! moreover, the laundry is always a mess!! we paid for it buy it always got mixed up and lost!!
i hate to stay in this hell!! i need to leave this fucking place now!!! but we still hv 4 more days to go!!!  how am i going
to tolerate that!!!
Leaving to Bali earlier than planned should we!?!?!?

THis is my 3rd week @ east timor!!!

Today is wednesday~ i went to Tibar again~ facing loads of TB patients and lots of patients with pain here and there~ spending the whole morning there~  but the good thing is i have a pretty translator: Sally from SOLS(a boarding school in Dili)~ it makes me feel a bit better~  luckily after a big delicious lunch at restaurant 88 near landmark plaza makes me feeling refreshed again~

we have arranged our tickets to Bali !!! on 6th of May!!!  so exciting!!! it is really the paradise i am looking forward to and the only incentive to do all the tedious work here rite now!!!! from the end of the 2nd week we started to have tiresome work to do.. to sign off health certificate for local teachers!!! wtf~ i am not suppose to do this!! but finally simon, me and 2 other UK guys started to do this every morning if we dun have mobile clinics..~ we just do some trivial physical exam and ask some idiotic questions which even everyone will know how to cheat if they want to ..~  because if our clinic, BPC, do not do this such meaningless check up, they would need to pay and do it properly in an hospital~ now i feel like assisting the spread of infectious disease in a 3rd world country instead of helping it out~~

E Timor rebel leader surrenders

Gastao Salsinha handed in his weapons at a formal ceremony The leader of a group of rebels accused of trying to assassinate East Timor's president has surrendered. "We believe that from now on the Timorese development will start and people will have a better future, as well as living in peace, harmony and stability."       Being here in East timor really broaden my horizons. I started to notice events around the world and after talking and listening to many westerners i feel that i started to develope my global perspective (a little bit)..  must i read and learn more to become more knowledgible in order to serve the nation... yesterday i just heard the news from bbc that the rebel leader has surrender and there should be peace for sometime at least for the east timor~ cases i came acorss recently: a suspected noonan, down syndrome, hyperthyroid, loads of TB, ?nephrotic, PKD, ?psychotic pt, HIV, ?bronchiolitis, FTT~  brief discription what i hv done last week: Today (wed) Tibar, lunch Yesterday (tues) Relaxing evening at beach with a good swim!!  i should bring a book and read there with comfortable see breeze and romantic sunset~ the place was so nice that all your worries and anxiety are all gone for once~ Kenny went to date with a american bonita feto (pretty girl) and doesnt make it~ :p
